This AC unit motor would hum but wouldn’t operate. After checking the capacitor and ruling it out, we determined the motor itself had failed.

We replaced the AC motor with a new one and got this customer cooled down again.

One thing I want to point out in this video that can make your day in the field: the MOLEX connector running from the AC unit to the control box actually pulls apart, allowing the pinned wires to be removed individually. Once the wires are installed, simply clip the connector back together.

That little feature is absolute gold when replacing motors in tight spaces.
