Thermostat Turned On but Furnace does nothing?
I really like quick troubleshooting guides because most of us are always on the move. This is one of those issues you’ll run into with a Suburban furnace. If you turn the thermostat on and the blower fan doesn’t start, this guide will help you confirm what’s actually going on and decide your next step in the repair process.
At that point, if you’re not getting power to the furnace motor, you’re typically looking at one of three things:
-an incoming voltage problem
-a control board issue
-or a sail switch stuck closed when there is a call for heat
If the sail switch is stuck closed, it can prevent the motor from starting altogether. In this case, replacing the furnace motor resolved the issue.
Most of the time we find that the blower motor has failed.
